The Annual Vol. 3 is here!

We always say we're excited when we get something new in, but we really are, and doubly so in this case! After months and months of talking about it on the phone and over email, looking at computer files and proofs, there's just nothing like finally getting our paws on the biggest project of our year! Volume 3 of the Little Otsu Annual is all about drawings and options. Choose from one of three versions this year, each one completely hand-drawn by Minnesota's Dan Black (with help from Jessica Seamans): perfect bound, spiral bound and mini. The mini should be available in a few weeks but spiral and perfect bound versions are available now, so check it out!

new calendar and cards!

We're stoked that Chris Duncan was able to work us into his very busy schedule to create this double-sided calendar that features two awesome paintings that Chris made just for the project! Titled "Two Years of the Youniverse" and printed in vibrant full-color, this calendar takes you to the end of the decade in contemplative style. And when the decade is over, you can tear off the perforated dates section for art you can enjoy far into the new century.

And we're excited to introduce three new cards that happen to all originate from England! Stuart Kolakovic brings his nouveau folk style to two musical cards and Jamie Atherton of Atherton Lin contributes a lush wild watercolor. Enjoy these great new vehicles of correspondence!

SF Trip: September

I was back in the Mission last week spending time at the store and visiting San Francisco with my older brother Taylor. We had a great time going to the De Young and doing tons and tons of walking and had a nice lunch with our good friend Tommy (who also served as my gracious host during my stay).

It was fun to hang out with Kirk as always and finally getting to meet the new LO store team member Amara in person, as well as getting to see the few McSweeney's folks who were in town. Plus saw tons of customers that have become friends over the past 5+ years we've been open (which reminds me that our 6 year anniversary of the store is next month!). A highlight for me was seeing Jennie Smith and her very awesome son Coyote who is a very good dancer. Apparently his future is so bright, he is compelled to wear shades.

I'm excited about my next visit hoping I'll get a chance to visit the re-opened Academy of Science and getting to eat at Cha-Ya again. Hopefully I'll see you then!
